Here's a simple granola recipe that your child can help to make.
It may look like little more than assembly but your child will delight in the process. Give her the ingredients and bowl and a wooden spoon and leave her to get mixing.
Children interested in schema play (rotation, transformation and enveloping) will stir and stir - much more than necessary - simply because they find it so fascinating.
If you have a wooden play kitchen, this is the perfect opportunity to try some 'real' cooking. Play food is fun but nothing brings a toy kitchen to life like making something you can actually eat.
A word of warning - don't cook it at too high a temperature as the maple syrup will cause it get too toasted....Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 cup of flaked almonds
2 cups of oats
1 cup of desiccated coconut
1/3 cup of maple syrup
1 tbsp of pumpkin seeds
3 tbsp coconut oil
ground cinnamon
ground ginger
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together and spread out on a baking tray.
