By keeping their overhead costs low, they are now recognised as one of the most cost-effective reforestation projects on the planet. While their primary goal is to lift people out of extreme poverty, they have also become a model for environmental restoration and land management.
We have planted 10,000 trees since January!
We are immensely proud of our collaboration with this awesome organisation: Eden Reforestation projects reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year, and we have pledged to plant 10 trees with them for every one sale of our Tender Leaf or ThreadBear products.
In June this year a significant milestone was reached. Over 333 million trees have been planted and produced! Collectively over 25,000 Eden Reforestation Projects employees (full time and seasonal) have planted a third of a billion trees in Madagascar, Haiti, Nepal, Indonesia Mozambique, Kenya, Honduras, and Nicaragua....and we here at ThreadBear, with the help of you wonderful customers have contributed to this staggering number of trees planted.
The positive contribution of employing locals to replant trees cannot be over estimated...
......and they are not stopping.....Their vision is to plant a minimum of 500 million trees each year and to offer hope through the employment of tens of thousands of people in countries where extreme poverty is rampant.
