With Christmas just around the corner, there's still time to add a handmade touch to your festivities. Whether you're looking for a unique decoration for your tree or a thoughtful gift for loved ones, creating a miniature Christmas angel from simple household items is a wonderful option. Not only is this DIY craft project simple and inexpensive, but it's also a great way to recycle egg cartons!
Materials Needed
For this DIY Christmas angel, you'll need the following materials:
- An egg carton
- A paper clip
- Scissors
- Glue
- A printout of an angel face
Step-by-Step Guide to Making Your Christmas Angel
Step 1: Preparing Your Angel's Face
First, you'll need to prepare the angel's face. After printing out the angel face template, carefully cut around the angel's head.
Step 2: Setting Up the Paper Clip
Next, unfold a paper clip so it forms a long line and attach it to the back of the angel's head. This will serve as the support for your angel.
Step 3: Creating the Angel's Dress
Cut out the centre piece of your egg cup to create the angel's dress. If the angel's head hasn't been printed onto cardstock, you may want to reinforce it at this stage.
Step 4: Crafting the Angel's Wings
You'll also need to cut out two wings from the egg holder part of the carton. Attach these two pieces together, then fix the wings onto the dress.
Step 5: Assembling Your Christmas Angel
Lastly, make a hole in the top part of the dress with the end of the paper clip and slide the head onto it. There you have it – your very own Christmas angel!
